First title for WiiWare announced; no, it’s not Geometry Wars

Courtesy of the fine folks at SPOnG, Destructoid has received word that the Viennese company, Bplus, is the first to announce an original title for Nintendo’s upcoming WiiWare channel. Since Austrians always say it better, you can have it from them in their own words:

“The Viennese company Bplus, which celebrates its fourth birthday today on 07-07-07, is proud to announce to be, as Nintendo official developer, among the first that offer original game titles for the new Wii download service.

The start is made with the innovative puzzle shooter game PLATTCHEN – twist ‘n’ paint which has been designed specifically for Wii and its innovative new controller. Supported by the test team of the Austria-exclusive GameClub, which only consists of Nintendo enthusiasts, Bplus creates an easily accessible and exciting game experience that will easily attract hardcore Nintendo fans as well as relatively unexperienced players.”

As with most PR blurbs, this one contains very little actual info. So to find out more, I did a little poking around at Bplus’ site to see what other fine games the company has previously developed. Strangely, it would appear that PLATT CHEN twist ‘n’ paint will be their first title, ever. Not that this should be considered negative in any way, but I am certainly going to have a “wait and see” attitude until I actually, ya know, see something from them.
