Circuit City advertises $100 PS3 price cut to hit July 15

Could it be? An impending $100 price cut for Sony’s PlayStation 3? If Circuit City are to be believed, it looks like it’s happening right after next week’s E3 events.

According to Speedy, a reliable ad/deal hunter over at the Cheap Ass Gamer forums (registration required), Circuit City have advertised a “price break” for the PlayStation 3 60GB SKU, bringing the price down $100 to $499.99. This has yet to be announced or confirmed by Sony, but as you can see from the above image (taken from the DVDTalk forums ), it’s plain as day.

The ad is valid starting on June 15, right after E3, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Sony announces this next Wednesday at their press conference. But is $499.99 enough to jump start slacking PS3 sales?
