Steam Early Access: Waste some time with Wasteland 2

Kick dirt in Kickstarter backers’ faces

Wasteland 2 finally hit beta for its Kickstarter backers. Those of you who adopted the John Dorian “wait and see” approach, however, are free to cackle embarrassingly at all the chumps who plunked down their coin mad early, because you can slip right on into the same Wasteland 2 beta through Steam Early Access

Now, the catch is that you’ll still have to pay $60 for early access — much higher than typical — because that was what Kickstarter backers paid for the beta access tier. Can’t screw over the folks that funded development. If you wait for the full game to release, it will be cheaper, though the $60 early access will also net you some extras, including a copy of the original Wasteland.

Still, if you’re itching to play Wasteland 2 — hopefully that’s not the radiation getting to you alrady — inXile says its, “basically feature-complete. We’re including 30% of the game levels so you can see how Wasteland 2 plays: AI, gear, inventory, creatures, line-of-sight, exploration, world-maps, fast travel, dialogue, and more.”

Grab yourself some chilaquiles, loosen your waistband, and go give Wasteland 2 a twirl if you have the time and money.

We’re starting out at $59.99 and you’re going to get a lot for your money over time, including a truckload of digital extras, including:

— A free copy of Wasteland 1 – The Original Classic
— Two digital novellas set in The Wasteland world
— Mark Morgan’s Wasteland 2 OST in digital format
— A digital concept art book

* We expect the final release price will be lower, but the digital novellas, OST and concept art book are exclusive to Early Access
