About nine minutes from producer Yuji Abe
I saw that Square Enix had shared a video of producer Yuji Abe’s playthrough of a certain chocobo quest in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. Hmm, I thought. Then I saw a major games website run a new hands-on preview of an open-world section of Lightning Returns. Double hmm.
I looked at both.
Bitch, I saw this at Tokyo Game Show a month ago!
Whatever. If you missed my preview, the Wildlands of Nova Chrysalia are lovely, and Abe’s nice, long look at live gameplay does a good job of showing just how open this area is. You’ll get a good look at the battle system, world, enemies, and even a sub-boss.
Oh, and you get to see Lightning all Dragooned out, with her awesome Lancer attack. At about the 6:00, during a sub-boss battle, mark you’ll see the results of character customization as well as some new looks for Lightning.
And it’s in English, which is nice (and would have been easier than my Japanese playthrough!).
