Namco Bandai confirms “premium” version

My favorite of Ninja Theory’s games is looking like it may get a second chance to shine. Namco Bandai has confirmed reports that a new, premium version of Enslaved: Odyssey to the West will be seeing release on PlayStation 3 and PC later this month.

A re-imagining of the classic Chinese folk epic, Journey to the West, the game released back in 2010 on PS3 and Xbox 360 and set the story in a beautiful but dangerous post-apocalyptic world populated by what humanity had left behind. The title was further supported with downloadable content with a side adventure starring the crude, lovable Piggsy character, Piggsy’s Perfect Ten.

Further details regarding what the premium release will include have yet to be revealed, but it seems a safe bet that the DLC is likely to find its way in there. Right now, I’m more interested in what the price is going to be. Enslaved bottomed out at retail rather quickly, selling for about a third of its original asking price in various deals within two months of its release, so the idea of paying full retail (or even half retail) seems like a bit of a tough sell, even with the game moving to an all new platform.
