Final Fantasy XI Fan Festival features fourth expansion, maybe foxy furries

Slap on your Mithra ears because Square Enix is throwing another of their Final Fantasy XI-themed bashes. It’s called the Final Fantasy XI Fan Festival 2007, and this year they’re celebrating the game’s fifth anniversary. The event will take place beginning November 15 through 17th at the Hilton Hotel in Anaheim, California.

This year attendees will be able to get a first look (and hands-on) at Wings of the Goddess, the fourth expansion to the world of Vana’diel coming to the PlayStation 2, Windows PCs, and the Xbox 360. They will also get to participate in live quests, enter contests, and attend panels featuring Final Fantasy XI development staff. I pray there will be some LARP action.

If this is your thing, you’ll want to get a move on. The attendance is limited to 1500 people. Pre-registration costs $85 and includes admission for three days as well as a “Gobbie Bag” (ew…) and an exclusive in-game item available only to attendees.

The official web site is currently accepting pre-registration.
