EA closing freemium game-producing North Carolina studio

We’re all just dust in the wind

EA North Carolina, developer of “cutting edge freemium games for mobile and tablet platforms,” has been closed, according to an anonymous source speaking to The Escapist. EA has not made any formal announcements about the studio’s closure, but its website has been pulled.

The good news is that, according to The Escapist’s source, “most of the team will be relocating before the 5th,” so this doesn’t seem to be leaving a bunch of probably nice individuals jobless. Hopefully some are already on a big old jet airliner and heading to greener pastures.
