CD Projekt moves The Witcher 3 to May 19, 2015

‘[W]e see many details that need to be corrected’

CD Projekt RED already pushed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt back to 2015, but the studio needs an extra few more months still. The massive action-RPG is now scheduled for May 19, 2015.

The delay announcement is refreshing in that “We set the release date too hastily” isn’t something you often hear in a press release. CD Projekt also calls The Witcher 3 “the most important game in our studio’s history,” noting that “we must be absolutely sure that we did everything we could to limit any bugs to a level that will allow you to enjoy the game thoroughly.”

While I’m not expecting perfection by any means, I am expecting greatness. Here’s hoping for a smooth launch, rare a thing as that’s become. And, back to that point about release dates, the studio should stealth release Cyberpunk 2077 when the game is done like four years from now.
