High School, the Video Game High School videogame

NES-inspired Flash game based on the web series

In last week’s episode of web series Video Game High School, the character Ki created a videogame based on lead protagonist Brian D’s troubled first week of class. In other words, it was a game adaptation of VGHS Season 1, appropriately titled High School Video Game.

Though that version of the game is exclusive to the show’s universe, Joel Sinclair of Newgrounds used the art from the fake game to create a real one in Flash. Each event in Brian’s life is represented as a clone of a popular NES game, such as Mega Man, Super Mario Bros., Punch-Out!!, and Contra. Not perfect recreations by any means, but you get the idea.

It’s very short, so you can clear it in no time at all. Just something to occupy yourself on a lazy Saturday evening.
