Nvidia and Konami have released screenshots comparing next month’s PC release of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes with the PlayStation 4 version, and I’m glad I waited.

Officially, this is what’s new:

  • Additional deferred lights per scene
  • Additional shadows per scene
  • Higher-resolution render targets
  • Higher-resolution shadows
  • Increased detail over distances
  • NVIDIA SLI Multi-GPU support
  • Options to adjust seven graphics features (Effects, Lighting, Screen Filtering, Shadows, Texture Filtering, Textures)
  • Resolution support up to and including 3840×2160 (4K)
  • Screen Space Reflections

If you look at this first scene, you should notice additional lighting throughout the base and, to the far right of the screen, more vegetation. The second scene shows reflections that simply weren’t there on consoles. Looking good. According to Nvidia, “Rumor has it, [Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance‘s] impressive sales figures led the way for a return to PC for Metal Gear Solid.”
