First look at Game of Thrones: A Telltale Game Series

Tyrion, Cersei, and Margaery make appearances

Every time Telltale’s Game of Thrones comes up, the prevailing comments are always the same: “When will we see what it looks like?” The answer to that question is “now,” and the answer to the followup question is, “eh, it looks like a videogame version of Game of Thrones, I guess.”

Admittedly, the lore of A Song of Ice and Fire does not really mesh with the cel-shaded style that can be found in The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, or Tales from the Borderlands, but it feels like something is missing here. Maybe it’s just that the vast scale of Westeros and Essos cannot be fully expressed in a 50-second teaser.

In the video, we see half-second clips of some of the most loved and most hated characters, designed to look and sound like their representations in the HBO series. Cersei and Tyrion Lannister, Margaery Tyrell, and Ramsay Snow all make appearances, and each will be voiced by the actors from the show.

Telltale goes into a bit more detail than the teaser, reiterating the first bit of details we know. Game of Thrones will follow members of House Forrester, which is one of the lower houses in service to the Starks. The five Forrester characters are spread across Westeros and Essos, and all of their actions are intertwined. To speculate, since this is a Game of Thrones game, I think we can expect that only a fraction of them will survive until the end.
