Summer Camp is a survival horror game where you can play as the killer

This teaser trailer for Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp isn’t much to go off, but the concept — a third-person survival game inspired by ’80s slasher films — is strong enough that I’m listening.

In this first game, you’ll play as a teenage camp counselor alongside other players trying to survive until dawn (as if that means you’re truly safe) — or the killer. That could be good! Or not! I don’t recall there being many attempts to recreate the movie genre in videogames.

Breach & Clear developer Gun Media is on point for Summer Camp but the studio is working with special effects legend Tom Savini and Friday the 13th composer Harry Manfredini. Can’t say I have high expectations for the game, but we’ll see. Hope it’s decent.
