E3 2007: Disney now offering movie rentals for download on XBL Marketplace

Recommended Videos

As Haley’s been telling you, like NOW. Seriously. Go turn on your 360. Titles like Bridge to Terabithia and The Fox and The Hound 2 are among a growing library of Disney films available for download. We’re not kidding about the “growing” part, either. The list is getting longer by the minute.

Microsoft is making good use of its partnership with Disney-ABC Domestic Television in an effort to reach the younger market, but don’t let that fool you. With movies like Touchstone’s Deja Vu and Miramax’s The Queen, there’s more than just cartoons on the way. Hi-def new release rentals are 480 points, and the standard-def new releases are 320 points.

With a big name like Disney releasing its movies this way, do you think disc media is headed for extinction sooner than we expected? Hit the comments and tell us what you think, if you’re not busy watching The Queen.
