Tokyo Jungle Mobile coming to US next week

Apocalyptic animal survival on the go

Recommended Videos

Tokyo Jungle is a surreal treat, a survival game in the streets of an abandoned, wrecked Japan populated entirely by animals. How many games let you play as a Pomeranian? Word was that Tokyo Jungle would be coming to PlayStation Mobile in Japan, meaning compatibility with the PlayStation Vita and select Android devices.

Well, according to PSNStores, Tokyo Jungle Mobile is also coming to North America on the same day, July 10, for $2.99. The Japanese release is slated to release at 300 yen (about $3) and then double in price after the first week, so expect Tokyo Jungle Mobile to jet up to $5.99 after July 17.

From the screenshot, Tokyo Jungle Mobile looks like Final Fantasy Tactics-esque spin off, featuring an isometric view of a grid. Perhaps a little less enticing than the original action game. Well, the Vita may not be getting the original Tokyo Jungle after all, but you can still play it via remote play, if that’s any consolation. Any interest in this SRPG-looking spin off?
