Fatal Frame 2: Crimson Butterfly is creeping its way onto PlayStation Network this week. Its arrival is hot on the heels of the original Fatal Frame, which only landed on Sony’s online service a few short weeks ago.

Based on the dreams of series director Makoto Shibata, Fatal Frame 2 is a much more story-driven affair than its predecessor. Designed with the faint of heart in mind, Tecmo dialed down the tension a notch to encourage players to see the game through to the end. Shibata contends that those that do so and feel compelled to go back through the title for multiple playthroughs will be in for a treat as there are several ways in which to interpret the story.
