YouTube support for PS4 Share captures coming this year

The Playroom is getting free DLC

YouTube uploads will be supported on PS4 later this year, Sony Entertainment America president and CEO Shawn Layden announced during the company’s E3 2014 press briefing.

At long last, you’ll be able to hit the Share button and upload captured footage to your YouTube channel. Funny how loud some members of the audience cheered for that one. There’s also new free DLC planned for The Playroom: custom broadcasting sets. Okay.

Layden also ran down a bunch of statistics about the PS4. 95 percent of PS4s are connected online and, to date, there have been 1.25 billion hours played online; one billion multiplayer sessions; and 220 million Share captures. Related: I miss Jack Tretton.
