No Starcraft II in 2007; Zerg cosplay will have to wait

In a recent interview with MSNBC, Blizzard’s vice president of game design, Rob Pardo, reveals that there’s no way in hell Starcraft II will be released in 2007. All five people who were optimistic (and stupid) enough to believe that we’d actually see the sequel this year are off crying into their custom-made Terran helmets.

Despite the fact that the game was just revealed publicly a week ago, many might be surprised to hear that the team at Blizzard have been working on the game since wrapping up with Warcraft III. Pull out a calendar and weep — that’s five years ago, and they’re still not done yet.

The good news is that quality games take time, and Blizzard is more than willing to spend as much time and money to make sure that Korea is happy with the final results. A poor sequel is how wars are started, people.
