Yet another Warhammer 40,000 game is on the way

This time, it’s a side-scrolling action game

Between Space Hulk and Slitherine’s turn-based Warhammer 40,000 title, Games Workshop seems to be branching out. Roadhouse Interactive is also getting in on the action with a side-scrolling action game targeting smartphones and tablets. We know that it’s one Space Marine versus untold Orks — just the way I like it — but little else at this time.

“The work we have seen to-date from Roadhouse makes us extremely confident that this new mobile title will be a fantastic addition to the range of digital games we are building,” said Games Workshop’s head of licensing Jon Gillard. “We are extremely pleased that Tarrnie and the guys at Roadhouse Interactive, who are both veteran developers and very familiar with our IP, are going to help expand the Warhammer 40,000 universe into the hands of mobile gamers with this unique take on it.”

No screenshots or key art have been released yet, but we can probably use our imagination. The premise sounds good to me, though I’m less sure about the platforms it will appear on. Time will tell, I suppose. And now I’m remembering that Space Marine exists while a sequel doesn’t.
