F-Zero on the Wii U eShop will run at 60Hz

Thank goodness

Good news everyone!

F-Zero is coming to the Wii U eShop for 30 cents this week, but not everyone was that excited — particularly our friends in the PAL regions.

Specifically, I’m referring to the fact that Europeans got that crummier 50Hz version of Balloon Fight. People were worried that Nintendo would keep doing that for subsequent releases, and rightfully so. Well, it appears as if Nintendo has ditched this idea (at least this time) and F-Zero will be running at the full proper 60Hz rate, internationally.

One really cool unintended consequence that a few European Wii U owners have pointed out is that the Miiverse community for F-Zero won’t be filled with spam asking for a 60Hz version of the game, like they were for Balloon Fight.

Insert “Nintendo finally gets it” reference here.
