Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground induces deja vu

When the new issue of GamePro hits the stands on May 15th, it’s guaranteed to contain more ProTips than you can shake a stick at (like, “Press start to pause the game,” for example). It will also be the first time Activision’s money printing machine, Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground will be a revealed.

The follow-up to last year’s Project 8, this PlayStaton 3/Xbox 360 game is set to revolutionize the series. You know, with things like updated “Nail The Trick” modes and revamped multiplayer. Wait a minute … don’t we say this crap every year?

The game will also bring skater classes and a full-featured video editor to the table. Yay. In GamePro’s cover story, Tony Hawk himself also talks about the new project (“It’s going to make me a lot of money again!”) and chimes in on what he thinks about his game’s competition, EA’s Skate.

It seems like only yesterday that I was playing the PlayStation demo for the original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater like it was a full game, eagerly anticipating its release. How the mighty have fallen.
