Activision is getting serious with eSports as they’re hosting their first official major tournament for Black Ops II. The Call of Duty Championship tournament will be taking place in Hollywood, California from April 5 – 7 and will see 32 teams from around the world competing in the first-person shooter.

The tournament is being put together in partnership with Xbox, Major League Gaming, and the Electronic Sports League to make all this happen. Those wishing to become one of the final 32 teams just need to sign up for Call of Duty: Elite, and then compete in League Play all this month. The top eight eligible teams will earn a spot in the finals. The rest of the tournament seating will be filled by the top eight teams competing in the MLG 2013 Pro Circuit, top eight teams competing in ESL’s European Finals, and additional tournaments taking place in Asia, Australia, and Brazil.

Check out the official page for the Call of Duty Championship for full details on the tournament. Like any eSports tournament, this will all be livestreamed as well.
