[Update: Ubisoft sent some extra beta info our way]

Ubisoft has just released a new video for their upcoming FPS ShootMania, showcasing some particularly tricky shots. In it, you’re going to see a lot of beams that look like they came from Unreal Tournament‘s Shock Rifle, which alright with me!

The main premise of the game will be similar to Ubisoft’s TrackMania and unreleased QuestMania lines, where you get to create your own experience using in-game tools. I like the idea of a “create your own shooter” mechanic, so I hope the core game is solid enough to actually be worth my time. Arena shooters are fairly underrepresented these days, so the more the merrier!

If you’re interested, you can register for the beta at ShootMania.com — it’ll close on July 2nd.

ShootMania Storm closed beta starts early July and includes new competitive mode, “Siege,” for 5 vs. 5 player battles.

Register online at www.shootmania.com to receive a closed beta key.  Registration will close on July 2.

Please note, access to closed beta will end seven days after it begins.

Closed beta content includes:
•       Joust: 1 vs. 1
•       Elite: 3 vs. 3
•       Siege: 5 vs. 5
•       Melee: free for all
•       Royal: free for all with the dome over the map shrinking
•       Battle: team vs. team, no size restrictions
•       Time Attack: perfect for training
