DDR is good for you! Land Monsters rejoice!

Next-Gen has an article up citing a recent study that showed that children who play DDR have improved health and attitudes towards exercise. In a joint effort, Konami and the state of West Virginia introduced DDR machines into public schools, and while some machines were dismantled and used as shivs, the ones that remained often helped to improve the health of children who used the machines regularly.

This, of course, seems counterintuitive to the traditional appearance of those most likely to be seen on DDR machines, as Konami’s cash cow appears to be a magnet for those of us who sweat butter. If only someone would study why these machines attract the most spherical of the already homunculan arcade goers, arcades could save millions in the refurbishment of machines that have been crushed into a fine powder.
