Assassin’s Creed IV on PlayStation Vita via remote play

The second-screen you’ve been waiting for

During today’s press conference Sony once again demonstrated the PlayStation Vita’s remote play functionality by streaming Ubisoft’s highly-anticipated pirate-fest Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag running on PlayStation 4 hardware. The transition appeared absolutely seamless to say the least and easily left me impressed. The third-person action, free-running and cinematic sequences translated well. My only reservation was the sheer number of details taking place during the naval battles, which may not be so easy to follow on such a small screen.

While most fans would agree that the remote play feature has been vastly under-utilized since its inception, what little we’ve seen has left us craving more, and today’s demonstration was no exception. Let’s just hope this is the start of a growing trend.
