After the surprising resignation of Stephane D’Astous earlier in July, Eidos Montreal have announced that David Anfossi is the new head of the studio. Anfossi was the Executive Producer of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the studio’s first game and he’s been at Eidos Montreal since day one.

D’Astous left Eidos Montreal citing “irreconcilable differences” between the studio and the European branch of parent company Square Enix, after poor sales expectations of the Tomb Raider, Hitman: Absolution and Sleeping Dogs. With Square Enix announcing a Tomb Raider sequel is in the works, one can only hope that there is a clear strategy at the publisher and that Anfossi won’t be distracted from having the studio finish the upcoming Thief
