World of Warplanes to enter closed beta on May 31

World of Warplanes has been going strong for a while now with its alpha version — some 600,000 people signed up to participate — but it’s getting to be that time for the next phase. Wargaming.net is preparing for a closed beta, which will commence next Thursday, May 31.

Those would-be players who put their names in the running for the World of Warplanes alpha but did not get accepted are going to be prioritized over everyone else for the beta. That certainly seems like the appropriate course of action.

I haven’t tried the game out yet, but it does conceptually sound like the most enjoyable of the developer’s free-to-play titles. That may or may not have to do with my utter inability to drive tanks.
