Help fund Odallus: The Dark Call if you like this demo

And you probably will

JoyMasher’s next project following Oniken is one some of you are going to badly want to play. And, thankfully, that’s possible despite a targeted mid-2014 release. Inspired by classics like Castlevania, Demon’s Crest, and Ghosts ‘n Goblins, Odallus is an “action exploration platformer” through and through that may look dated but actually ends up feeling fluid.

To accompany the team’s $5,000 Indiegogo campaign, there’s a generous demo of the title. At the very least, the hope is to earn enough money to pay for Odallus‘ soundtrack and video production, with the rest of the team sticking to their day jobs and continuing to work on it during off-hours. It’s a flexible campaign, however, so I’m hoping signficantly more funding can be brought in.

The demo doesn’t “depict any level in particular and level design on it won’t be used in the game,” says JoyMasher. “Instead, we built the demo willing to show you a bit  of everything you can expect in Odallus. The style of the level design, with many paths to be discovery, is one of the main aspects we wanted to demonstrate.” It’s pretty great, I have to say.
