Marvel is publishing a Max Payne 3 comic mini-series

I’ve been posting a lot of Archie comics news as of late. Probably a little too saccharine for some of you tough guys out there, I know. Here, this ought to satisfy your sophisticated palette!

Rockstar Games has teamed up with Marvel Comics to produce a three-part Max Payne 3 prequel series that returns to certain events from the original two games while building towards Max’s current predicament. It’s written by series writers Dan Houser and Sam “The face of Max Payne” Lake, and it’ll be available both digitally and in limited print format. The first issue will even be available for free in the coming weeks via Rockstar’s Newswire blog, the official game site, and various other places.

These comics fall under Marvel’s Custom Solutions label, which caught me off guard for a second because I had never heard of that label before. What is it? Can someone clue me in? I’m assuming it refers to comics that Marvel publishes digitally. Is that correct? Why can’t I find jack about it on Google?
