These prototype screenshots of 0x10c are oddly charming

Since we last checked in with 0x10c, the new space game from Mojang, Notch shared an early screenshot that shows how flashlights currently look. He also scratched off the part on the official site that briefly mentions this being hard sci-fi; I can’t help but chuckle thinking about how that conversation went.

A user on Reddit had the bright idea of swapping out the number in the image’s URL, which, sure enough, led us to a handful of other prototype screenshots. I feel like I’ve just accidentally seen an elderly neighbor changing but find myself unable to look away. Raw game development, folks!

While you glance over these images, I’ll continue concentrating on how to pronounce 0x10c and sincerely hope that I’m never required to say the name out loud for the purposes of this job.
