Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch set for early 2013

I still have goosebumps after seeing a bit more of upcoming RPG No no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. I’ve gushed about it before, but I’m going to do it again with a preview in the coming days, so get ready for that.

At a press conference this morning, Akihiro Hino, President and CEO of Level-5 took the stage to tease us with footage and details on the western release of this beautiful game. Hino said that this project began as a 10th anniversary project for Level-5, and at that time they decided not to worry about sales projections and focus on making something they could be proud of from a creative standpoint. They wanted the game to use the animation techniques that Studio Ghibli is known for, and the famed studio signed on soon after, with composer Joe Hisaishi signing on to provide the musical score.

The rest? History, or soon to be, as Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch will finally hit our shores (North America and Europe) in the first quarter of 2013, with full language support in each territory.

I can’t wait.
