Mortal Shell 2 has a total of nine shells, and obtaining eight of them can be a bit of a grind. Barring the starter shell, all the remaining ones are hidden in secret locations. To obtain them, you’ll have to figure out their locations. Then, you need to complete certain tasks to add the shells to your collection.
In this guide, I will go through the locations of all eight unlockable shells and how to add them to your collection.

All shell locations in Mortal Shell 2
Once you reach Fainweald, you’ll find the location of two different shells for free: Tiel and Proxima. For the rest, you’ll need to have enough Glimpse. Honestly, don’t spend your Glimpse on them before finding Tiel and Proxima.
Proxima shell location
First, reach Widow’s Overlook Beacon. From the beacon, head north to reach the Blackridge Cliffs, and you’ll find a set of cultists. Go past them, where you’ll find a white spider-like enemy and a Beacon. Enter the Shattered beacon, and you’ll find Proxima’s body and the shell to add to your collection.
Tiel shell location
To find this shell, head to the Mushroom Village. Don’t enter the village, and continue going east until you come across an enclosure lit by a set of torches at the entrance. There, you’ll find Tiel’s gravestone and the shell will buried in the ground. Wait for the cutscene to play out before you get to add the shell to your collection.
Eredrim shell location
To find the shell, you’ll have to visit the Citadel of Penance. Use the Beacon and go to the courtyard. Then, drop into the pit and reach the lower dungeon level. Proceed forward until you see the arena (initially, the gates will be locked).
Look for a lift near the blocked gates. Once you find the lift, activate it with the nearby lever to reach the surface. You’ll be ambushed by the Warden at this point, and I died few times. Once you take down the Warden, you’ll find Eredrim’s corpse and the shell to add to your collection.
Gragu shell location
Gragu is a living NPC, and you’ll find him at the One Legged Wolf Tavern. However, finding him is only one part of the task, as he will ask for the Heart of Vatra. Take the rope bridges from the tavern and go east to find a mountain passage and several vampires.
Once you reach the temple, you’ll find a chest inside. To open the chest, you’ll need to make three offerings. However, you can go past the chest to take the stairs that lead to the highest point of the temple. You’ll find a corruption-infested statue holding the Heart of Vatra.
Once you find the item, use one of the side exits. Return to the tavern and hand Gragu the item. This follows one of the funniest events of the entire game that allows you to get the shell (no spoilers!).
Smert shell location
First, reach the Outskirts of Nochte Beacon and then go up the slope to reach Prophet’s Rest. Here, you’ll find numerous cultists and Smert’s body. You have to interrupt the ritual and kill all the cultists until you can get the new shell to equip.
There are three pools, and you have to fill them with your own blood. You will die during the process, but the beacon is nearby, and the filled blood remains intact. Hence, you just need to repeat the process thrice to unlock the shell.
Genessa shell location
To add Sester Genessa as a shell, you’ll have to find a censer to return to her. Go to the Eastern Ruins of Mammon to reach Sester’s Refuge, and then look for an area with red trees. This is the Revenant Graves, and look for the Sester Genessa figures in the area. You’ll also find the censer at this location.
When you interact with the item, you’ll immediately begin a fight with Sester Secondus. Defeat her to get the Sester’s Censer, and return to Marrow Keep. When you return the censer, you’ll unlock the first memory of Sester Genessa. Once done, you can then switch to her when you want.
Lazlo shell location
First, activate the high Lord’s Courtyard Beacon. From there, you have to find the stairs that lead to an air current. Then, go down to reach the dark crypt. You’ll encounter a Knight of Mammon at this location, so be careful.
Finally, you’ll find Vellen, the High Lord of Mammon. Once you defeat him, you’ll find Lazlo’s body and get his shell.
