Dive into the first XCOM: Enemy Unknown developer diary

Recommended Videos

2K Games has released the first in a series of “Deep Dive” developer diaries for Firaxis Games’ XCOM: Enemy Unknown, the remake of the 1994 strategy game X-COM: UFO Defense. In the video, which runs for nearly six minutes, a few Firaxis folks — lead designer Jake Solomon, lead programmer Casey O’Toole, and art director Greg Foertsch — explain the ways in which they’ve evolved the original X-COM into 2012 XCOM.

You’ll get a glimpse of some concept art, a smattering of cutscenes and mid-mission combat footage, and a look at the XCOM organization’s underground base. For more details, check out my full preview.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown is due out for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 this fall.
