PlayStation gamers are having a rough month.
To kick things off on July 1, Sony announced it would be abandoning disc-based games in 2028, and it’s set off a tidal wave of anger towards the company and its partners ever since. And today, PlayStation Network is experiencing some hefty outages.
PlayStation Network server issues

Sony’s PSN status web page is reporting that “all services are experiencing issues,” across account management, gaming and social, PlayStation Video, PlayStation Store, and even the PlayStation Direct web shop.
I personally have had no issues with PSN at all this morning, as I’ve been enjoying the Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls open beta, so the issues don’t appear to be affecting all players. But enough are having problems that the game’s devs had to acknowledge them.
“We’re aware that some PlayStation players are experiencing login and network issues,” the official Tōkon account said this morning. “Our team is actively investigating the problem and working to identify the cause. We’ll share updates as soon as we have more information. Thank you for your patience while we work on resolving this.”
PlayStation and Sony, meanwhile, have not publicly said much yet beyond the status page update.
This is certainly not an ideal situation for anyone involved, much less Tōkon devs or PlayStation’s social media team that have been dealing with a deluge of fury for the past 23 days. This likely has not helped at all.
Are you having issues connecting to PSN? What region are you in? I’m based in North America and having no problems to speak of, so I’m curious just how big the problem may be.
Update on July 24 at 3:20pm CT: It appears that most of PSN’s services are now back to normal and operating at full capacity.
