I felt this day would never come. But here we are.
Grand Theft Auto 6 officially opens up pre-orders next week on June 25, and Rockstar Games has unveiled the official box art to celebrate the affair. It’s classic GTA, and it’s gorgeous:

It really is just quintessential Rockstar Games art, isn’t it? It’s got both protagonists, Jason and Lucia, along with some other characters already revealed, and its trademark sexy girl in the middle left slot. And then, of course, some nondescript shots of random cool things like a speed boat, a car with scissor doors, a crocodile, someone popping a wheelie on a motorcycle, and a helicopter that can float on the water.
In addition to a new shot of Vice City from afar, that’s all that Rockstar had to show for now, but I’d bet some money on there being some news happening next week alongside the pre-orders opening, like the arrival of the ever-elusive third trailer. And maybe even some gameplay.
A random Thursday morning might have just lit up the internet when it comes to GTA 6 excitement. It’s been a long time coming, but it seems like the game is truly, actually, finally launching later this year on Nov. 19, and the marketing is about to kick up in a big way.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see GTA 6 showing up at some of the biggest events of the summer. Maybe a commercial during the World Cup Final? Either way, everything finally feels real. After multiple delays and close to a decade in full development, the long-anticipated sequel is finally just a few months away.

Rockstar says the pre-orders on June 25 will be open on digital storefronts (PlayStation and Xbox) and “other select retailers,” so be prepared to dive into your savings if you want to pick up the rumored high-end editions of the game that will likely come in at over $100.
GTA 6 will launch later this year on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a port to PC likely coming in the years to follow. Vice City and gamers everywhere will be waiting.
