The first Scout challenges for Y8S2 are now live in The Division 2, and we have our first HVT to take down. The war seems to have begun against the Hyenas, and there are three tasks to complete.
Let’s check out all the tasks we have to complete in the opening week.

The Division 2 Y8S2 Into the Dark Scout 1 solutions
As usual, there are three tasks to complete. The tasks will be hidden behind clues, but I have decrypted them for you. Here are all three clues.
- “Speak with Manny Ortega in the White House”
- “Some civilians escaping the Hyenas in Downtown East have been captured. Save Them.”
- “We’ve located Jackal. Take him out.”
Talk to Manny
The first task is the easiest, as you need to head to the White House. A quest marker will appear, showing where Manny is. Speak with him and wait for the cutscene to play out. This will complete the first task, and we can move on to the next one.
Complete two Public Executions in Downtown East
The second task involves completing two Public Executions successfully in Downtown East. You should find them easily. When you head to a location, you’ll find two captured civilians. Begin your assault by attacking the enemies. Be careful since the enemy will try to kill the civilians. To complete the mission successfully, you’ll need to ensure that at least one civilian survives.
Once the enemies are dealt with, speak with the civilians, and you’ll complete a Public Execution. Do this twice, and you’ll complete the second task.
Complete the Jackal Bounty
Our first HVT of the season is here, and Jackal is the new target. You can activate the mission from the Bounty section; he will appear as a special task.
Activate the bounty, head to the designated location, and begin the raid. You also fast-travel from the Final Epiphany safe house to save more time. You’ll have to combat three waves of enemies in three different locations. Proceed to the marked location, and you’ll find the Jackal with other elite enemies. Kill all of them to complete the first set of scout challenges. You can complete the bounty in any difficulty.
Once you finish the first set of tasks, you’ll come across a voice recording discussing why SHD agents have been visiting the Dark Zone. To know more, we will need to wait for the next couple of months until we can access the Climax mission.
