Blizzard’s plan for improving Diablo III’s multiplayer

Matchmaking tags, player bonuses, identify all, and more

In a new blog post, Blizzard runs down a list of additions and tweaks to Diablo III‘s multiplayer that will roll out in patch 1.0.8. Running through the list, there’s matchmaking tags which are intended to alert others to the type of game you’d like to play (“Full Act Clear,” “Keywarden,” etc.); experience, Gold Find, and Magic Find bonuses based on how many players are in your group; and reduced rates for monster health in multiplayer.

Elsewhere in the patch, we’ll be getting Identify All (thank goodness), assist-fueled Archon for Wizards, and combat alerts for both Elite packs and Treasure Goblins. A “Players Near You” window for local-network players and private chat with support for up to 99 other people round out 1.0.8. Some of these features are clearly better than others; does this change anything for you?
