Updated on July 28, 2025: Added all units from the 2.0 Update and reranked the tier list.
I ranked all Anime Squadron units according to four of the main roles in the game which are DPS, Support, Tank and Farm. In addition to the rankings Iβll also go into some tips and a farming guide for everything. Hereβs my Anime Squadron unit tier list and guide.

Anime Squadron Unit Tier List

The individual unit ranking reasons are below as well as how to get the special units. Before we dive into the individual rankings, hereβs a breakdown of the ranking tiers for the best units in Anime Squadron:
- S-Tier DPS: The Meta tier for units with the best damage.
- A-Tier DPS: Sub-Meta DPS units that scale well into the end-game due to damage/utility.
- B-Tier DPS: Decent DPS units that make up for lower damage with off-Tank/Support capabilities.
- C-Tier DPS: Beginner DPS units that have niche uses like Fusion, specific team support or fast clears.
- Tank: The best defensive units that tank for your team.
- Support: The best buffers/debuffers and units that have Leader buffs..
- Farm: Upgrade generation (Only use FW β Falcon is bad and needs an update).
Check out how to get all evolution materials and EVO units below the tier list tables.

S-Tier DPS
| Unit | Ranking Reason |
|---|---|
Madora (Six Path) | β’ Massive Meta DPS from both the Burns and True Damage that ignores Defense β’Β The Meteor simply nuke crowds and further buff his Burn DPS β’Β Easily one of the top 3 DPS units right now |
Rizzuto (Six Path) | β’ The most versatile unit in the game due to the Clones β’Β They basically give you meta DPS levels, incredible tank potential due to the heals and even support potential due to the damage and defense buff to nature allies β’Β You can stack a ton of clones with Nature allies in the team and the Cloner trait and they all do follow up attacks β’Β Superior is still slightly better |
Mighty Guy (8th Gate) | β’ Is a bit slow at first since he needs to stack up the Gate buffs but once he does heβs a Meta DPS machine β’Β Fully stacked gates give you massive damage, fast attack speed, true damage and even 5-second stuns β’Β Incredibly powerful unit on longer modes |
Kan (Ghoul) | β’ The pure Meta DPS version of Kan that also has Prey but is based around massive Bleed DoT damage β’ Deafeating enemies that have Bleed on them and/or defeating enemies directly with Kan massively boosts his Bleed DPS and CD β’ Takes a while to get stacked up from Bleed Frenzy and Devour but becomes a Meta DPS afterwards β’ Also heals when taking down Prey which makes him a tankier DPS than usual |
Akoza (Demon) | β’ A meta DPS boss killer that you want at the front to always keep at least one in combat since they all get massive damage buffs when fighting β’ Focuses on stacking Poison which nukes HP and shields when Battle Excitement is stacked and weakens enemy damage for support utility β’ Heβs also pretty tanky since he can respawn at max BE stacks β’ Since Cloner makes additional Akozaβs spawn on self-revives, Cloner is also good on Akoza for DPS but overall is not better than Superior |
Gometa (Blue) | β’ Like Gometa SSJ4 stacks massive buffs β’ The gimmick is attacking the same target so heβs a boss killer β’ The buffs make him extremely powerful in longer game modes but his Ultimate is also great for shorter modes β’ Bralu is a bit more accessible and better for the average player but Gometa is a top high end-game unit β’ Leader buffs 30% DMG to Dragon and 10% DMG to Water units |
Bralu (Legendary) | β’ Bralu is much more accessible than Gometa and combined with his massive DPS and defense this makes him the better unit IMO β’ Part of his prime damage comes from Thorns and damage AMP when enemies attack him which is what also makes him a great tank β’ Either way, you want Bralu in the brunt of the action and he can take it due to CC immunity and defense boost when Rage is stacked β’ Leader buffs 30% DMG to Antagonist and 10% DMG to Nature units |
Gometa (SSJ4)EVO Goki to Full Power Then complete questline For Primal Core materials for Gogeta EVO Gokiβs Trait carries into Gometa | β’Β One of the strongest DPS units in the game due to massive self-stacking buffs and the best unit to go for early via the Goku and Vegeta Mythics quest β’Β Gometa can also tank really well in the end game with his massive defense, HP regen and dodge β’Β Definitely worth rushing ASAP β’ Leader buffs 30% DMG to Protagonist and 10% DMG to Divine units |
A-Tier DPS
| Unit | Ranking Reason |
|---|---|
Baras (Meteoric Burst)EVO Baras from the new Event | β’Β An absolute boss-killer that stacks various buffs when hitting the same target β’Β Has self-revives that boost his damage even more making him incredibly sticky and reliable |
Berserker (Enraged)Squadron Eclipse (Before) Chapter 4 | β’Β One of the strongest DPS units due to massive Bleed DoT damage that even reduces enemy regen β’Β All DPS is boosted the lower HP he is for even more damage so combine him with Skeleton Knight for tanking at low HP β’Β Also quite durable due to the self-heal |
Saske (Susanoo) | β’ Quite a decent sub-Meta burn unit with utility β’ The utility comes from regen prevention on enemies that stacks with Bleed β’ Thereβs heavy synergy here with Bleed units since the Bleed buffs Saskeβs Black Flame DoTs |
Rangaku (Demon) | β’ A near-Meta DoT damage DPS that deals AOE burst damage instead of sustained damage since his DoTs explode instead of dealing tick damage |
Tanjaro (Sun Breathing) | β’ Synergy with Nazaka Meta support for dual buffs β’ By himself heβs almost-meta DPS thatβs based around executing low-HP enemies with self buffs when they drop below 50% and 25% HP |
![]() Dente & VargilBattlePass | β’Β Individually Dante is a lower-tier DPS unit and Vergil is a pretty decent stun-based support β’Β Together they are a sub-Meta DPS duo thatβs actually quite strong due to their Devilish Combo ability synergy β’Β The storm deals a lot of damage and it has great debuff potential β’Β If you want DPS, run them both, if not, just run Vergil for support |
Woo (Shadow)Banner Secret 20k Summons Pity | β’Β Sub-Meta DPS with summons, an AOE nuke and is decently tanky with the dodge chance β’Β Really strong for fast clears/farming β’Β Really underrated as a tank for dodging attacks instead of being a bullet sponge |
B-Tier DPS
| Unit | Ranking Reason |
|---|---|
Kan (Investigator) | β’ The damage/Tank hybrid version of Kan that has a bit lower DPS than other A-Tiers but still deals impressive damage and tanks really well β’ Both the pure DPS Kan and Tank Kan share the Prey ability but Kan (Investigator) uses it to heal and and gain dodge chance which makes him incredibly tanky |
Freezer (Golden) | β’Β Gimmicky Meta DPS that relies on on-kill summons and AOE damage from his zone β’Β He can deal a ton of AOE damage with the zone and summon explosions β’Β Also has a built-in self-revive for defense if heβs on 3+ summons |
Garu (Half Monster)From Hero Hunter Challenge | β’Β Incredibly versatile and useful unit thatβs a DPS, Support and Tank all in one like Shanron but much better β’Β Deals great DPS once you stack status effects and Marked on enemies β’Β Tanks well with his ignore-lethal-hit effect that further buffs his DPS β’Β Supports well with his Def buffs and Damage buffs to units dealing Corruption on targets Garu marks |
Kagaya (Resurrected) | β’Β A gimmicky DPS thatβs fun to play in specific teams due to her passive synergy but is overall sub-optimal in terms of high DPS |
Puppeteer (Transcendent)EVO Puppeteer Get base from Katakara Bridge Challenge Get EVO Item from Katakara Challenge Hard Mode | β’Β A weaker version of Gometa DPS-wise but still powerful due to massive tankyness from heals β’Β You get a ton of self buffs and a debuff thatβs just more damage instead of being utility which is why I didnβt put Aizen in the support rankings β’Β You can grind everything you need for him on the Katakara Bridge Challenge Normal/Hard |
Android (Super) | β’Β A decent sub-Meta DPS unit with a bit of stuns for added utility β’Β Weaker than Dante and Vergil if you run them both but about as strong individually |
Skeleton Knight (Resonance)Raid Eclipse (Before) Last Chapter | β’Β Excellent Hybrid mix of DPS and the best tanking in the game β’Β Link him with your strongest DPS unit for damage reduction β’Β Lower DPS than S-Tiers but still great |
Shanron (Omega)GT City Raid Act 4 | β’Β One of the most versatile units in the game since he can DPS, Tank and Support but not Meta great at either β’Β His Ice mode slows enemy units which is great for stalling β’Β Donβt rush him over the above units and save him for later |
C-Tier DPS
| Unit | Ranking Reason |
|---|---|
Falcon (Dark)EVO Banner Mythic Falcon | β’Β Decent mix of DPS, executes, support and farm β’Β On the support/farm side he increases debuff resistance for your team and increases Yen gain β’Β On the DPS side he executes normal enemies for faster crowd clears β’Β Incredibly useful unit overall even though heβs not Meta DPS |
Goki (SSJ4 Full Power)Required for Gometa | β’Β Goki is a great sub-Meta DPS but you want him either way for Gogeta β’Β Heβs slightly better than Vegata DPS-wise |
Vegata (SSJ4 Full Power)Required for Gometa | β’Β Vegataβs Full Power EVO is quite a decent mid-game DPS unit β’Β That said you mainly want his EVO since its required for the Gogeta quest |
Caska (Resilience) | β’Β Not the best DPS but amazing support potential due to the damage amplification on attacks and buffing Berserker and Falcon β’Β Can deal decent DPS with Berseker though since he buffs her too but only on 60%+ HP enemies |
Karashi (Sharingan) | β’Β Karashi has lower DPS than the units above and Rizzuto but is incredibly good for farming resources on various modes (see farming guide below) β’Β Plus heβs a really good filler unit for end-game teams |
Best Tank Units
| Unit | Ranking Reason |
|---|---|
Rizzuto (Six Path) | β’ The most versatile unit in the game due to the Clones β’Β They basically give you meta DPS levels, incredible tank potential due to the heals and even support potential due to the damage and defense buff to nature allies β’Β You can stack a ton of clones with Nature allies in the team and the Cloner trait and they all do follow up attacks β’Β Superior is still slightly better |

Best Support Units
| Unit | Ranking Reason |
|---|---|
Nazaka (Berserk) | β’ Amazing heal and cleanse-based unit thatβs the best Support in the game β’ She also debuffs enemy accuracy and boosts dodge chance with a heal burst on low-HP allies β’ Meta support in harder modes and works really well with tanks |
Tsanada (Hakage) | β’ Nazaka is generally a better support but Tsanada is quite a great DPS/Healer hybrid if you want more DPS |
Ranga (Ice Dragon) | β’ A sub-Meta freeze unit thatβs great for stalling enemies |
Meto (One Eyed) | β’ A Meta damage amplification support that applies stacks β’ These stacks boost enemy damage taken, reduces enemy defense and resistances and gives your team crit chance against the target |
Shinks | β’Β The best early game Support since he debuffs enemies for -15% DMG and increases your teamβs chances to hit enemies β’Β Works incredibly well with Cloner |
Beby (Super) | β’Β A simple and effective team damage buffer with a little defense boost for allies |
Vargil | β’Β A great support/off-DPS option if you donβt want to run both Dante and Vergil β’Β Has a stun that also amplifies all damage taken on the enemy unit β’Β Is also a great support for Dante with their synergy ability if you want to run them together for a sub-Meta DPS combo |
