PS2 guitar + USB adapter + 360 = disappointment

Guitar Hero II

for the Xbox 360 hit the shelves today, and like many of you, I immediately picked up a copy. Also like many of you, I am the proud owner of not one, but two, guitar controllers that worked with my PlayStation 2 versions of Guitar Hero.

While the technical specifics of how exactly it would work escaped me, I still held onto hope. Hope that, by some miracle, I might be able to use my PS2 guitar controller with my Xbox 360, given I had a USB to PS2 controller adapter (or magical pixie dust). I mean, the 360 guitar controller is a USB controller, right? It’s gotta work!

Yeah, not so much. Don’t waste time like I did. Spend it trying to beat my high scores, instead.

With that in mind, it pains me to bring you this news. If you plan to rock out with a friend, you might have to start selling drugs again just to fund it. And oh yeah, Electronic Art’s Rock Band is going to have a wireless 360 guitar, apparently. Ouch.
