The results are in for the 2012 Independent Games Festival. Hundreds of entrants were narrowed down considerably, and what we’re left with is a delightful collection of very different games. The finalists for the Seumas McNally Grand Prize are:

- Fez (Polytron)
- Frozen Synapse (Mode 7 Games)
- Johann Sebastian Joust (Die Gute Fabrik)
- Spelunky (Mossmouth)
Be sure to read over the finalists for the other Main Competition categories — plus the honorable mentions — sometime before the winners are named during the Game Developers Conference early next month. Consider this list a cheat sheet of notable games if you don’t regularly follow the indie scene.
