Forza Horizon 6 is far away from a sim, and you can get away with your car taking damage during a race. However, you can still turn it off to erase the visible dents and bumps on the surface of your vehicle as a result of ‘accidental’ knocks.

Let’s find out how you can always make your car look as if it has just come out of the showroom.

How to turn off car damage in Forza Horizon 6

Before we proceed with the steps, do note that all forms of damage are purely visual as long as it’s Cosmetic. While your car’s tires will show wear and tear, they don’t have any impact on the race performance. The same goes for any physical damage; the marks are purely visual and won’t have any impact on the outcome of a race.

But if you set things to Simulation, any accidental bump and excessive tire wear will do actual damage and affect the car’s performance.

However, you can turn both things off quite easily from the in-game settings.

  • Go to the Settings menu under Accessibility.
  • Select Difficulty.
  • Go down to the Damage and Tire Wear option.
  • Choose None and then save your choice.

This will automatically remove all types of tire wear and physical damage from your car. Ideally, going for this option depends on what kind of experience you want. I love to have an immersive feel and mostly use the cockpit view. Having glass damage makes it harder for me to drive. However, it also encourages me to drive carefully, and that eventually leads to better races.

If you don’t want that degree of realism and just want to enjoy the car paint, turning damage off is the way to go.

If you want the immersive feel but also want to take good photos, you’ll want to remove the damage caused by your car. The easiest way to do so is by going to the Photo Mode. Then, you can reset any cosmetic change that resulted from your car taking a knock. So when you take a photo of your car, it will look completely new.
