Heart of the Swarm, the newest StarCraft II expansion, is capitalizing on the buzz surrounding its release. Blizzard announced that it sold more than 1.1 million copies in its first two days at retail.
“We want to thank the global StarCraft community for the incredible passion and support they’ve shown for Heart of the Swarm. We’re pleased to see gamers and eSports fans around the world enjoying Heart of the Swarm,” said Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime.
The sales figures are a combination between physical and digital copies sold. This impressive statistic was helped in part by a successful Twitch.tv campaign which saw more than 1.1 million viewers check out the expansion’s launch events.
