The Silverwind Nargacuga is a mutation in Monster Hunter Stories 3, and you can unlock it pretty early in the game.
The Silverwind Nargacuga isn’t an ordinary monstie. You’ll first need to get the base variant. Obtaining the base variant (the egg) itself is a difficult task, as you’ll be going up against the Invasive Nerscylla. This guide will provide you with all the necessary information required for you to get your own Silverwind Nargacuga.

How to repel the Invasive Nerscylla in Monster Hunter Stories 3
To unlock the Silverwind Nargacuga, you’ll need to first repel the Invasive Nerscylla. To find it, glide east from Camp: Blessing Hill in the Canalta Timberland region. From there, head straight to reach the marked location (marked as “6”).

You’ll find the Invasive Nerscylla that has terrorised the endangered Nargacuga habitat. To repel it, you’ll want to bring a Gunlance with the Wyvern’s Fire skill. Save your energy and wait for the Nerscylla to become invisible. Perform the Wyvern’s Fire skill to interrupt the Nerscylla’s incoming attack.

Once you repel the Nerscylla, go to the endangered den and get your Nargacuga egg.
How to get the Silverwind Nargacuga in Monster Hunter Stories 3
Wait for your egg to hatch, and you’ll get your Nargacuga. The Nargacuga is a pretty strong monster in the second chapter, but the Silverwind Nargacuga is even better. It’s one of the two mutations available, with the other being the Green Nargacuga.
To get the Silverwind Nargacuga, you have to meet two requirements.
- You need to get the Nargacuga/Green Nargacuga’s Ecosystem Rank to S.
- The monstie must reside in habitats that have two or more monsters that control the winds, like the Great Izuchi, the Paolumi, and the Legiana.
The Blessing Hill area in the Canalta Timbaland is the best spot to meet both requirements. This area already has the Great Izuchi in it, and you can release the Nargacuga to the zone.

All you now need is to find four Nargacuga eggs to hatch. The easiest way to do so is to track a Nargacuga that should now show up in the wild (since you’ve populated a region with it). You can reduce its health and Paintball it, which will allow you to track it back to its den (and get the egg).
Once you find the four eggs, wait for them to hatch. Then, release them in the same region, and this should take the Nargacuga’s Ecosystem rank in the area to S. You’ll unlock the Silverwind mutation once the rank reaches S. You’ll also unlock the Green mutation if you hadn’t done that.
When you find Nargacuga eggs the next time, some of them will belong to the Silverwind mutation. If you’re looking to unlock more mutations, check out this complete list of every monstie variant.
