On the PlayStation Blog, the top-selling PlayStation Network games of December have been compiled for curious minds to look over and commit to memory. Topping the charts is none other than thatgamecompany’s Journey, beating out full PlayStation 3 games like Mass Effect, Far Cry 3, and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

Even though it wasn’t discounted until the very end of last month, surely that had some noticeable impact on this list. Personally, the deal pushed me over the edge and resulted in a particularly memorable Christmas Eve. Playing so late, I was worried about my chances of getting a co-op buddy throughout, but that wasn’t an issue at all.

It was reassuring to hear earlier this year that Journey had become the fastest selling PlayStation Network game, and we’re getting more good vibes from this news. It’s not hard to imagine a world in which the game could fail commercially despite strong critical reception. I’m glad we don’t live in such an alternate universe.
