How to equip and remove gems in Dreadmyst

The process of equipping gems into gear is pretty simple. You can add them as long as there’s an empty slot. However, you can also make an error in the process. You can accidentally equip a gem in the wrong slot. For example, equipping a Refined Ruby in a slot meant for Courage won’t provide you with any boost.

If that happens, you’ll need to remove the gem using the Shatter Gems item. This item can be obtained by completing The Arena quest. You can complete this quest multiple times by playing in PvP. Once activated, the Shatter Gems item will automatically remove all socketed gems. Removal of a gem also destroys it permanently.

Additionally, there’s an element of failure associated with the socketing process. The exact odds are a secret, but attempting to socket a gem won’t be guaranteed. The odds of failure also go up when you’re trying to equip higher-tier gems.
