Jasper Byrne’s dungeon crawler uncanceled

New Game+ is back on

The tentatively titled dungeon-crawler “New Game+” from Lone Survivor designer Jasper Byrne sounded pretty damn excellent. Described as something akin to “Zelda x Demon’s Souls,” it looked appealing even early on in development. As such, it was heartbreaking to see the game get canceled due in part to its ambitious nature.

I couldn’t retweet Byrne fast enough when he wrote “F*ck it, I might as well just say it: I’m working on New Game+ again.” He followed up with a few more tweets, saying: “I can’t guarantee it’s going to work out and get finished, but for now I’m gonna give it my best shot.”

The title will also now support cooperative play and a deathmatch for up to four players. “I really wanna make this a game that people want to play together in the same room,” Byrne explained. Welp, that’s my day made.
