The Equilibrium dungeon has arrived in Destiny 2, and, as usual, it’s bringing some shiny new loot for anyone who dares venture into it—including a Dark Matter Crystal for your Praxic Blade.
Equilibrium picks up from where the Renegades narrative left off, bringing a fireteam to Venus. There, they’ll face acolytes of Dredgen Bael, the story’s Kylo Ren-esque antagonist, to fight off that threat. Contest mode is enabled for the dungeon’s first 48 hours, bringing a higher challenge, but the regular difficulty should open up for guardians once the first three players clear the final encounter and win the race to World First.

Expect some Star Wars overtones in the dungeon, including its drops. Renegades is, after all, officially inspired by George Lucas’ famous creation, so themes like balance are bound to be part of it (if the name wasn’t enough of a hint). The Fire and Ice mission also touched on that theme with encounters requiring you to balance Blights, so players are bound to find something familiar as they head inside.
In addition to a slew of guns, the Heirloom Exotic bow is up for grabs as a guaranteed reward for those who beat contest mode, and as a random drop for others who best the dungeon’s final encounter. The Taken Dark Matter Crystal is another prize with a “low chance” of dropping in full clears, according to the studio.
