The Light of the Darkness looks promising

The Light of the Darkness is a work-in-progress Metroidvania indie game project led by Brazilian Fernando Rabello. Although already in development for some time, there isn’t a launch date yet defined, partly due to the craftsmanship involved and partly due to insufficient funding to get the game ready.

Artistically speaking, the game’s visuals are pretty good! Actually, really awesome at times. They strike me as something like Actraiser meets Odin Sphere. But despite the great graphics there are some camera movement and animation issues, apart from some other minor technical problems from what can be seen on the trailer.

As soon as a playable version is available a more complete analysis can be made. But, just by its looks, The Light of the Darkness has already caught my attention. Something gamewise to remember Brazil other than Blanka!

If you liked the game enough to want to play it, or even if you just want to help the project come to life, you can support the game through the Kickstarter.
