Well damn, son! I didn’t think you’d be able to top Operation: Guts Man Edition, but lo and behold, I am spellbound by Hungry Hungry Koopas!
Donald “Kodykoala” Kennedy has worked wonders once again by taking a classic board game, Hungry Hungry Hippos in this case, and injecting some awesome sauce. On and off since January, he has been repainting the hippos to look like Mario Koopalings Iggy, Roy, and Larry, as well as big daddy Bowser. The detail on each character is incredible — roughly 10 hours of work went into each individual Koopa. Just check out the whole shebang on his Flickr page.
Donald will be selling this unit at El Paso Comic Con this weekend, but if there are no takers, he’ll make it available on his site. I wouldn’t mind having this baby on my coffee table!
