Need for Speed World gains Treasure Hunt mode

Electronic Arts’ free-to-play online racer Need for Speed World is celebrating its one-year anniversary. As such, players are getting a new mode, 1000 SpeedBoost, and an exclusive vinyl and license plate.

Treasure Hunt mode sends you on a journey to pick up 15 hidden icons for rep and in-game cash, and yes, the placement of these icons is going to reset every day. This concept vaguely reminds me of Beetle Battle in Beetle Adventure Racing — anyone else dig that game? Those were simpler times.

To round out the festivities, EA would appreciate it if you to spent more virtual currency in NFS World. The player-modeled Porsche 959, Dodge Viper SRT10, Nissan 350Z (Z33), and Volkswagen Scirocco are all new to the store.
