PopCap trademarks ‘Popcorn Dragon,’ sounds yummy

PopCap is a studio whose gears are constantly turning, and frequent trademarks to protect titles aren’t uncommon. Game Informer is reporting that the most recent of the bunch are for Popcorn Dragon and Solitaire Blitz.

Game Informer points out that The Popcorn Dragon is a children’s book written by James Thayer, and that there could be some connection. The game Solitaire Blitz, on the other hand, is a bit more forthright in that it could possibly be. This may be great news for Hamza, who (last I checked) had an iPhone 4 but the only game he played on it was the most boring-looking version of Solitaire I’ve ever seen.

PopCap has a history of trademarking things and never following up, which makes me sad. Where’s YetiTrain? Robodojo? Vacation Quest? I guess for the time being I’ll just have to settle for Pig Up.
